Templin Historical Museum

The Lineman

The Lineman, this sculpture is dedicated to the unsung heroes who, from 1854, strung aerial telegraph and telephone wires across Australia.

As you come down Templin hill past the Museum, keep your eyes open for our Lineman. He’s at the top of the pole next to Oscar Badke’s power generating windmill.

Volunteer Rob successfully received a RADF grant for blacksmith Colleen Lavender to create the artwork.

Thanks to all Templin volunteers who helped with the installation. Thanks to Mark (Scenic Rim Heritage Network Liaison Officer) for assistance during the process, Scenic Rim Trophies, Scenic Rim Regional Council, Regional Arts Development Fund and Queensland Government.
